Long time, no blog!
Sooo... my blog updates have been... lacking lately. However I have my reasons! And I've created this handy list:
- Paris: I was in Paris all last week with NO INTERNET! However, I did take a lot of video! Which leads me to:
- Paris Video: I had been planning to update when I had the video from Paris all cut and edited, however I have not been able to find enough time to edit said video, and therefore my update schedule has been off.
- Nothing to update about: This is a blatant lie. Ignore this point.
So, without further ado, here's a new update!
*CUE MUSIC*
Sunday (8/9):
Camden Market! This is a historic and HUGE market in East London. There is some really cool stuff there, both premade and handmade. I wound up getting myself a clock made from the U2 album Rattle and Hum.
AND
Open Mic Night at the Old Sun! As you may recall, there was an open mic night on the Sunday after I got here at the The Old Sun. The Old Sun hosts an Open Mic Night the first Sunday of every month. Of course, I participated in said night by playing drums... but this time I actually have video!!! I did screw up a little, but I kept going! Check it out:
Monday-Thursday (8/10-8/13):
Paris! And to be totally honest... I'm not sure if I enjoyed this nearly as much as Barcelona, but nonetheless I have more video which will be coming after my return. One comment I have to make: the major monuments and tourist attractions, such as the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower, are HUGE, much bigger then they look in pictures and movies.
Friday (8/14):
Cambridge again!
Nothing to report from Cambridge.
Saturday (8/15):
U2 at Wembley Stadium!!! This was truly one of the best concerts I've ever seen. The band was in top form, and the stage was AMAZING and MASSIVE.
Do I have pictures? Yes. Do I have video? Yes. Can you see them?
and yes:
-----
Tuesday (8/18):
Stratford-upon-Avon! I saw and went into the houses where Shakespeare was born and where he died. I have photos too! These are now on my Flickr.
Wednesday (8/19):
I wrote a blog! You're reading it!
-----
Hopefully, I will have at least one more blog post before I leave this upcoming Monday!

I am lazy
There. I admit it. Now, let's get updatin'

EDIT:
I was not able to get anywhere near as much video in Barcelona... in fact I hardly got any... so here's what I got:
So what have I been doing all week?
Sunday (7/26):
The inagural Wembley Cup!
The Wembley Cup is a brand new exhibition football (soccer) tournement that lasts 2 days. 4 of the best teams are pitted against eachother for the ultimate bragging right possible: a big trophy.
I saw the amazing European champions, FC Barcelona, crush the African champions (hailing from Egypt), Al-Ahly, as well as Celtic defeat Tottenham Hotspurs, becoming the overall winners of the cup. It was a fantastic day of football.
Tuesday:
The Cambridge Shakespeare Festival Presents: Much Ado About Nothing. A wonderful presentation of the play, and and incredibly fun night. There was a little girl sitting in front of me, who I thought would not get the play at all, but she seemed to understand all the language and every joke, and it seemed like she really enjoyed it. I'm glad the youth is exposed to Shakespeare :)

Wednesday:
Cambridge again! And, as always, I have music! This time, I used my video camera, so the quality should be better. Normally, I don't listen to folk, but this band was just too good! I can't remember their name because the paper that said it is washed out in the video, but they were great!
Thursday:
I saw Brüno.
Brüno isht über famous. Brüno isht über funny.
Saturday:
We Will Rock You! Now celebrating it's 7th year on the West End! I had a great time, mostly because I love the music of Queen. The story may be crap, but it is overall a really fun show, especially if you like Queen.
EDIT:
I do want to clarify that, although I said that I was being lazy, it was really that I did not get a chance to take the video I wanted to take in Barcelona. Hopefully, I can change that in the coming weeks.

Short Break... for Barcelona!
Hey guys,
I'm gonna have to take a break for the next week, I'll be in Barcelona and I won't have internet access. The good news? Brand new videos FROM BARCELONA! So look out for that. Also, I should have some new pictures on the Flickr page later today.

New things!
Well, it has been a couple days, hasn't it? Yes, yes, I know, I'm lacking on updates... but I have a nice little update today! So here was my week (so far) in review:

Sunday: Open Mic Night at The Old Sun, a pub in St. Neots. I did get to play drums that night for "Hey Jude" (although "Hey Tom" was sung, one of the regulars [American Tom] was leaving to go back to St. Louis), and sang backup for several songs (including "Shakin' All Over" and "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction") but of course I don't have video of that. But I do have video of our neighbor, Fred (who took me to the pub), playing keyboard for "Here Comes the Sun," so check it out!
Monday, I decided to get artsy! I went to a town called Old Warden and took pictures of old buildings and such. Check them out here.
Tuesday... I have no idea what happened on Tuesday!
Wednesday, I went into Cambridge for some Cambridge shenanigans... and of course I ran into more buskers! This time, a whole band called Alpha Road. Of course, I took video of them. Here they are playing... well I have no idea what they are playing, but it's an original song of theirs and it's very good!
I also scored some awesome stuff: a copy of Queen's "A Night at the Opera" (£7) and the new Green Day single "21 Guns" (£4). Check it out:
And today... well, today I wrote a blog!

Four... ah forget it.
So a lot of you (well, three of you) want to actually SEE England. Technically, you have, seeing as I've done all but one of my videos in England... but I know what it is you want. Since my video camera is at this point useles (I'm having power difficulties), I took a little bit of video of some buskers outside of Boots (which is very much like CVS) in Cambridge with my grandmother's digital camera. So without further ado... some guys with a guitar and a box.

EDIT: The song they are playing is "She's Electric" by Oasis
